Hydrofluoroethers

Hydrofluoroethers (HFE) are a class of ether compounds composed of four elements: carbon, hydrogen, fluorine, and oxygen, which have been developed as ideal substitutes for chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs) and hydrochlorofluorocarbons (HCFCs). These compounds are usually colorless and transparent liquids at room temperature and are tasteless, odorless, low in toxicity, and low in viscosity.
